Wha–wha–WHAT??

Yesterday, Jacob and Emma were having a picnic in our living room.  Yes, the TV was on.  But “picnic” sounds so much better than “let’s eat lunch in front of the TV”.
Anyway…
While I was putting the finishing touches on their PBJs, I overheard Jacob say “Emma, if you don’t come eat lunch right now, I’m [...]

Once more with feeling!

This past weekend was supposed to be our one and only run of Children of Eden. But with the near blizzard and all, we had to cancel the Friday AND Saturday performances.
Well, we just got confirmation that we will be doing one more performance, this Saturday the 15th. And we have potentially 250 [...]

Crazy Weekend…

The show was canceled on Friday and Saturday because of all the snow.  The official measurement at the airport was 20.4 inches, which broke 2 records (one for single storm accumulation and one for snowfall over 24 hours).  We got about 15 or 16 inches at our house.  It’s the first time in 19 years [...]

The show must go on…

Despite the fact that we are about to be snowed in. An e-mail has already come from our director saying that unless there is a Level 3 snow emergency (making it illegal to drive), that we will be performing….it may only be for Dave (who has tickets tonight), but we are doing the show. [...]

Thursday Thirteen

Tonight is opening night for Children of Eden. It’s been 2 very, VERY long months of rehearsal…3, or 4, or 5, sometimes 6 nights a week. It’s really been grueling, but is totally worth once it comes to actually performing the show. With all of my moaning and complaining, I really do [...]

QUIET!!!!

At rehearsal tonight, I had a mini-internal meltdown.
I have a little bit of a problem with noise and crowds.  When there are too many people around or when the room in general is too noisy (music, shouting, dishwasher, timer going off all at the same time), I freak out a little bit.  I’m not sure why [...]

And so it begins…

Last night was the first rehearsal for the show I’m in right now, Children of Eden (I’ll be playing Eve).  We got the “adult” cast (meaning older than 7th grade) together and did our best to make it through every song in the show.  We got through about half.  We had to start skipping songs [...]

Thursday Thirteen

Dave and I are still trying to plan a vacation for sometime next year. We were originally thinking about Hawaii…but I don’t think that’s going to happen. We’ve decided to take another cruise and are just trying to hammer out a date. I’m getting pretty anxious because, well, I wanna be on [...]

Children of Eden

Last Tuesday, I had mentioned that I was auditioning for a part in our church’s yearly musical. For Dinner Theatre 2008, we are putting on Children of Eden.
Act 1 is a the story of Adam, Eve, Cain and Abel. Act 2 is about Noah and the flood.
I got cast as Eve. The [...]

Audition Time!

In my effort to find all things bad in my life, I totally forgot to mention that I had an audition on Sunday!
Every year, my church puts on a full scale musical (usually 30-40 people involved on stage alone) and this year we are doing Children of Eden. The auditions were on Sunday and [...]
