On the horizon

I have not worked outside the home since before Jake was born.  I have a vague memory of working while I was pregnant with him, so that puts my last job about 7 years ago.
It’s always been in the game plan that I would return back to work once both kids were in school full [...]

Fall Into Reading 2009

Katrina at Callapidder Days is once again hosting Fall Into Reading.
It’s a no-pressure, no-stress way to get people to put down the remote, step away from the screen, and open up a book.
I plan on participating this time around, and hopefully I will have a bit more success than I did with the Spring Reading [...]

Fitness Friday

I seriously considered not writing a post today.
I haven’t been doing so great (imagine that) and just felt like a big stupid head coming here to tell you that again.
I should change this to Not Doing My Fitness Plan Fridays.
But I’m going to turn that frown upside down.  Instead of abandoning, I’m revising.

The 100 pushups [...]

Fitness Friday

I have become very goal oriented.  I mean, I’ve been making a lot of goals.
Achieving them?  That’s a whole nother post.
Anyway…here’s what I have coming up:

Along with Denise and others, I’m participating in the Pushing the Limits 2009 challenge.  That’s 100 pushups by July 31st.  We’re using the 100 Pushups program.  I just did Week [...]

Run, Thea, Run!

Well, I can officially cross something else off my bucket list. On Saturday, I ran in my first 5k race. While I had to walk for a lot of it, I’m considering it a success because this is something that wasn’t even on my radar a year ago.
I crossed the finish line, therefore [...]

8 Things

April at My Life at Thirty tagged me earlier this week for the 8 Things Meme and I quickly forgot about it…until I saw some else she tagged had posted their answers.  That in turn made me feel like a slacker so I started to type out my answers.  That was yesterday at 9am.  Now…20 [...]

Missed the boat…er…bike.

I’m a huge fan of The Amazing Race.
It’s on my Bucket List to someday apply for the show.
I rarely miss an episode and have been known to tell everyone in the room to be quiet so that I can hear Phil Keoghan talk.  Every Monday, I check his video diary on CBS.com and I check [...]

Duh-60

Shhhhh…
Don’t tell anybody, but I have always kind of wanted to be a photographer.  I’ve always wanted to be able to look at something and see something noone else did…and then put it on film.  Or digital memory.  Whatever.
I’ve been complaining about our camera to Dave for quite a while.  It just didn’t take that [...]

Taking stock

I’m not sure what compelled me to, but I’ve made a Bucket List.
You know what I’m talking about, right?  It’s a list of all the things I’d like to do in my life…before I “kick the bucket”.  I wish there was another name for it, but it’s so much easier to say than “the list [...]
