You Capture – Family

This week for You Capture, I tried to take the “perfect” picture of my family…I really did…
In this one, it looks good but something just wasn’t quite right… What was Dave saying to them?

Ah yes… The famous “shake your booty for the camera and maybe she’ll stop taking pictures” tactic…

Or the faces that pop up [...]

8 Years

A lot has changed in the last 8 years.
We’ve moved twice.  We’ve seen jobs come and go. We’ve met new friends, stayed close to old friends, and said goodbye to those we thought were friends.
Pastimes we swore by fell by the wayside and new interests were born.
We started a family…an adventure we both agree is [...]

You Capture – Sweet

Up this week for You Capture was Sweet. I wanted to do something other than sugar, candy, dessert, etc., etc., etc…
And what can be sweeter than a little girl picking her mommy some wildflowers?

You Capture is a weekly photography challenge hosted by Beth at I Should Be Folding Laundry. Check it out for [...]

Sisters Weigh In

Today is the last day of Shrink Into Summer over at The Sisterhood.
My final weigh is 156 even.  That puts me UP .6 pounds for the challenge.
Really, I’m O.K. with that.  It could have been much, much worse.  I was over 160 last week…
I didn’t do as well on this challenge as I would have [...]

Wordless Wednesday

We’ve got some visitors in the wreath on our front door.

Our Toughest Decision Yet

Jake is advanced.
As a kindergartner, he consistently works far above grade level. He excels in math and reading. That’s just the way he is. Learning comes easy for him.
Our school system has a Magnet School program for advanced students.  We applied for him to be accepted into the program, but we knew that we probably [...]

Emma’s Stage Debut

Yes, Jake and I are openly laughing at her poor little “ear malfunction”. It’s totally my fault which makes it O.K. for me to laugh it. The wedgie? That wasn’t my fault…

Fitness Friday

I actually got up this morning at 6:30 to go out for a run. I needed to go out for 2.5 miles, so I had Dave use Map My Run to figure out a course through the neighborhood.
It probably would have been a good idea to actually CHECK the route before I went out [...]
