Thursday Thirteen cindy-t13

I “talked” to my brother today and tomorrow is his birthday.  I couldn’t think of anything else to make a Thirteen list on, so here are 13 things relating to my brother.  He’ll either think it’s really cool or he’ll think I need to get a life.  Or both.

  1. He once told me that he was “impervious to heat and cold”.
  2. We had a dog when I was growing up that I wanted to name Buttercup.  I think he wanted to name it after a philosopher…maybe Nietzsche?
  3. When I think of Doritos Nachos (Doritos covered in shredded cheddar and then baked in the oven), I think of him.
  4. He used to wear his hair really long.  My mom hated it.
  5. He collects snow globes…or at least used to.
  6. He and my other brother used to occupy the basement of our house.
  7. He graduated from California College of Arts & Crafts.  He’s dangerous with Popsicle sticks and some Elmer’s.
  8. He’s never far from his messenger bag.
  9. He doesn’t like shoes that lace…only zip, buckle, or slip on.
  10. He is dangerous in the kitchen but rarely uses recipes.
  11. He enjoys traveling without a set itinerary…something I will NEVER understand.
  12. He doesn’t take a whole lot of crap from people.
  13. His cool as shit and I love him.

    Thirteen things about Thea:
    1. She is completely pervious to cold like her mother, but does okay in heat.
    2. She is very smart and very funny. In fact I’m not sure I realized how funny she was until she started writing this blog.
    3. When I think of “unusual” food I think of Thea because she is ascared of it.
    I think her first exposure to raw fish was when I was visiting her and Dave and Jake in San Diego. The look on her face was precious. (I love that Dave has eaten stranger things than I have.)
    4. Her hair used to be a lot redder. Didn’t it? Maybe it’s an aging thing. (Holy cow my little sister is in her 30’s with two kids.)
    5. Thea is the keeper of my will. How could I not have put my snow globes in there? Consider this an addendum and they hereby go to her.
    6. Thea is lucky enough to have had her own room in the house we grew up in for the longest. I wonder how it was for her as the youngest growing up in that big house after the older kids moved out.
    7. HEY! I moved on from Popsicles and Elmers weeks ago! I’m now experimenting with pipe cleaners. Lay off theatre –girl.
    8. She is never far from her computer. (As much as I enjoy reading her blog, I think Thea should back away from her computer every so often.)
    9. She’s not big on makeup. My mom and my sisters aren’t really big on make up, and I love that.
    10. Thea uses directions and recipes to cook, as best as I can tell.
    11. Thea’s level of organization is truly astonishing and I wonder where it came from. I do laugh at it sometimes- not out of amusement but rather amazement.
    12. She’s learning how not to take a whole lot of crap from people.
    13. Hers cool as shit and I love her. (I also find her little typos cute.)
