I am keeping this fall’s list short for two reasons: With moving, unpacking, new jobs, new schools, new town to explore, blah, blah, blah…I’m not sure how much time I’m actually going to have to read. I’d like to aim for 30 minutes a day. We’ll see about that. The other is that I have NO IDEA what kind of library I’m going to have access too. They have one library for the whole town so I’m going to stick to (what I hope are) big names.
I included the Schulz book and Wicked because we actually own those. And I’ll read them. As soon as we move. And as soon as I find what box they are in. Come to think of it. I can’t really even start this challenge until we move.
Oy vey. I’ve got an excuse for everything, don’t I?
Non-fiction
Fiction
- My Sister’s Keeper – Jodi Picoult
- A Walk to Remember – Nicholas Sparks
- The Dead Don’t Dance – Charles Martin
- Wicked – Gregory Maguire

Moving…no fun & definitely not conducive to reading. But it looks like a good list. My Sister’s Keeper was a good read. I’ll be watching for your reviews of the others.
Blessings,
Julie
Let me know what you think about Wicked. I’ve had that on my shelf for a long time, but just haven’t gotten to it. I like the premise.
Good luck on the move and with the reading. I’ve got Wicked on my list, too. It’s been sitting on my bedside table for ages.
Hope all goes smoothly with your move! Our small town library participates in a cooperative with other area libraries to share books, maybe yours will too.
Great list. Good luck with the move. Wicked was a great read, a very unique and different book, I think you will enjoy it.
ohhhhhh I LOVED Wicked…very very very good book, slightly odd but otherwise excellently written.
Looks like a good list! I liked My Sister’s Keeper. Wicked? Eh… I heard the musical was better.
And Randy Pausch was such an inspirational man — I haven’t read his book, but I’ve followed his story.
You do have a lot on your plate! But it looks like you picked a list of books any library is bound to have a copy of.
After all the positive/interesting reviews I’ve read of My Sister’s Keeper, I’m feeling antsy about reading that one myself!
Have fun and good luck with your goals!
I’ve seen the Jodi Picoult book before and I think I’m going to have to check it out. It seems like a lot of people are reading it…something else to put on my Amazon wish list to keep track of! At some point we will be moving from our apartment into our house too, and I’m curious to see what it will do to my reading. I purposely didn’t take that into account thinking that if I ignored it, maybe it wouldn’t affect it.
I just read My Sister’s Keeper during the summer, it is a great read! I think I will read more of her books. Great list you have.
My Sister’s Keeper is an amazing book-you will love it. That’s what started me on my Jodi Picoult book. All of hers are amazing. And The Last Lecture will most likely change your life. Once I finished it-I wanted to start it again. I’ve started reading it with my husband. I’m excited to see your reviews and thoughts!
Great list! Look forward to hearing what you think about “The Last Lecture”. Wicked looks interesting but your link goes to a spanish version. I went to Maguire’s website. I think several of his books are going on my wish list.
Thanks

Those all sound like really good books! I’m gonna add a few to my list. I’ve read Wicked before.
Sooooooo, how was Lion King?????
Good luck with moving and having access to a good library. I also have Wicked on my list. I look forward to your review of My Sister’s Keeper, I’ve heard of it but not enough to check it out.
Wicked is such a fun read.
I also loved The Last Lecture and My Sister’s Keeper. What a great list.
Here’s hoping you have time to fit regular reading time into a busy schedule!
O My Sister’s Keeper is a great book! I am also reading The Last Lecture during this challenge as well
Good luck with the move!
DaHubby’s last class (a public speaking class) showed that Prof. Pausch on his YouTube video. He said it was absolutely amazing what they got to see – I can only imagein what the book will be like! Good choice!
I loved A Walk to Remember.
My Sister’s Keeper was my first Picoult book, and I absolutely loved it. Great list!
I enjoyed Sister’s Keeper and A Walk to Remember. I really want to read that Last Lecture book. Have fun with your challenge!
Great list! The Last Lecture is on my list too. I have never read a Nicholas Sparks book, but I’m thinking I may have to change that!
Oh – My Sister’s Keeper was great! I can’t believe I don’t have any more Jodi Picoult on my list! I enjoyed seeing your list.
I completely understand the library situation. Most of the books that I have had to take off my list in the past I was not able to get from the library.
Good luck on your reading even with all of the things working against you!
If you have time feel free to drop by my blog and take a look around or leave a comment or two.
I loved Wicked. It took a bit to get into, but once I feel in love with the Characters, I was unable to put it down.
Happy Reading!
Oh! I loved the movie “A Walk to Remember.” Just watched it again recently…and cried (again!) I’ve never read anything of Jodi Picoult’s yet…would love to hear what you think of that pick. Hope the unpacking and settling is going well and that you get more timet o read than you expected! Blessings!
I just finished The Last Lecture and there are NO words. BRILLIANT! I have yet to read a Nicholas Sparks book, I think I need to look into them.
