Thursday Thirteen - Tennessee

Tomorrow Today Thursday, we are leaving for a long weekend family reunion in Tennessee…a trip that I have been planning since last September.

And yet, I feel totally unprepared. Funny how that happens, isn’t it. Not much is packed. The house is a mess. Laundry is sitting in the dryer. So really, today is just like any other day.

We are looking at about a 9 hour drive, which I am NOT looking forward to, but oh my goodness do I want to be in Tennessee. I just can’t wait to get outdoors…never mind that it’s supposed to rain the whole weekend.

Yay.

Anyway, here are a few things (13 to be exact) I hope to see (and do) while we’re there…

This is our cabin…

Pioneer Cabins Wrangler\'s Den

Hopefully, we can get to go here…

Great Smoky Mountains

And see things like this…

And views like this…

Or this…

Or this…

Or this…

I could sit around and watch these all day…

Maybe if I get up early enough, I can catch one of these…

Or these…

But hopefully, none of these…

If the weather is nice enough, I might be able to ride one of these…

But mostly, I’m excited to have a weekend without these…

Have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll catch up with ya’ll on Monday!

  2. It has been many years since I was in the Great Smokey Mountains, but they are lovely. Hope you have a wondrous time with your family and the weather allows you plenty of time to get out and commune with all those wonderful sights!

  4. I hope you have fun. We were in WV a few weeks ago and it was supposed to rain all weekend. It only sprinkled a few times…hopefully there will be no rain in TN this weekend for you!

  6. Have a wonderful trip! We talked about going to the Great Smokies this summer, but it’s so crowded then… we’re going to spend a few weekdays in Shenandoah, instead.

Travel safely! And take lots of pictures! I hope the views are fantastic.

  7. Have a great trip. And don’t do what I did. I was so busy getting everything ready for the reunion and had so many people staying at my house that I didn’t have/take the time to get ready (personally) myself. And yup, it shows in all the pictures. Can’t go back, but I can try to warn others. I love TN. Happy TT
