As promised, here is the 2nd installment of my 80s Revisited list. Please excuse the numbering. I was too lazy to go back and change it when I copy and pasted it from the original e-mail…
14. You can remember what Michael Jackson looked like before his nose fell off and his cheeks shifted.
15. You have ever pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.
16. You took lunch boxes to school…and traded Garbage Pailkids in the schoolyard.
17. You remember the CRAZE, then the BANNING of slap bracelets.
18. You still get the urge to say ‘NOT’ after every sentence.
19. You thought your childhood friends would never leave because you exchanged handmade friendship bracelets.
20. You ever got seriously injured on a Slip and Slide.
21. You ever owned a pair of Jelly-Shoes.
22. After you saw Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure you kept saying ‘I know you are, but what am I?’
23. You remember ‘I’ve fallen and I can’t get up’
24. You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates.
25. You have ever played with a Skip-It.
26. You remember boom boxes and walking around with one on your shoulder like you were all that.

A lot of this stuff is very vivid in my mind, like the jellies, Pee Wee and the Slip and Slide. I actually still go skating with the quad skates. Great Post. Happy TT.

OMG-osh, I am so there! I am a big haired, Duran Duran lovin’ child of the eighties! Loved the smurfs. Had Jellies. Roller skated. Could Skip - it and I have bought Pee Wee movies in the present day.

Ha ha ha! That is hilarious - a couple of those pictures really cracked me up.
Not only did I own a couple pairs of jelly shoes, but I can still recall with great clarity how much they made one’s feet sweat & stink.
Yeah…good times.
Your last one I only remembered a few. This one I remembered EVERY one. Do you remember also when M.J. hair caught on fire making a Pepsi commercial? That was BIOG news.
Oh man…. I remembered nearly every every one (not Garbage Pail kids).
As great as the 80s were, I sure hope the style doesn’t come back (I’ve seen school kids wearing the stripped leggings rolled down recently *shudder*).

I loved jellies! Mine were hot pink! And I had some of the slap bracelts and friendship bracelets, too.
And I also wondered about Smurfette…but I think they resolved that? My memory is a bit foggy. And then they had a little girl smurf later…
